Ballet Beats Field Trip! Art Exhibit with our Elder Sylvia Ann Fox

Join Heidi and Kalyn at the opening of a new exhibit with Tall Feathers and Luminous Spaces called The Lost Children: a healing space. Some of you have met some of the artistic team from Tall Feathers if you came to our sweat in Willow Creek! Our beloved elder, Ann Fox will be part of the ceremony and this project. 3 other beautiful elders will also be opening the gallery.

Join us Saturday May 16 at 1:30 pm at the Spanicarts Center, 131 6 Ave SW. The show will run from May 14 to June 14.  Meet us there or reach out to travel with us!

This project captures a specific artistic and healing hypothesis: that profound historical trauma resides not only in narrative memory but also in the sensory and somatic body of individuals and communities. Alberta Neuroscience is part of this team and will help guide the layout and pacing of the installation to support healing. The work brings together storytelling, shared wisdom, and the creation of a restorative space through the arts.

As dancers, we know this to be true. Reach out with any questions and if you can’t make it on Saturday, we encourage you to go when you can!
